How's my build?
I've got an odd build for a Ranger. It seems effective, but I'm wondering if there's anything better, or if I should swap anything out.
The basic concept is a Melee Ranger/Warrior, with Stance Damage+ and Damage Resist. My sword gives +15% Damage in a stance and my shield give -2 damage while in a Stance (got an ultra lucky drop, only needs 7 Tac, and has 15 AL ) The skills I use are: Troll Ungent Watch Yourself Seeking Blade Gladiator's Defense (Elite) Galrath Slash Tiger's Fury Apply Poison Resurection Signet With Tiger's Fury, I can usually spam Galrath Slash, giving me my big damage. If I use Apply Poison before I get there, I can get a good deal of damage out in a fairly short period of time. If I get the timing right, I can use (in this order) Watch yourself - Tiger's Fury - Galrath Slash - Seeking Blade - Seeking Blade - Galrath Slash - Seeking Blade, then start over again. I usually don't have to worry about Energy, as my sword has a Zealous upgrade (Minus 1 Energy Regeneration, +1 Energy every time I hit something). If I get in trouble, I hit Gladiator's Defense then Troll Ungent and give myself a chance to heal. Mostly, I'm just wondering if there's anything out there that may suit this build better =/ Anyone know of some good skills? |

Get a crimson carapace shield in snake dance just outside the camp rankor portal for 5 frosted griffin wings. It will be 16ac, +45hp in a stance, and -2 damage in a stance

yeah, I saw that shield too. But, it also needs 9 Tactics, and I just don't have the points to spare. However, if I *did* have the points to spare, I'd be all over that like a fly to honey, don't you doubt for a second!

Going axe might be an option. Executioners strike and swift chop are very similar to galraths and seeking blade.
And cyclone axe should work pretty well with apply poison. Depending on your current party you could switch self heal for cyclone. That way you can lower wilderniss survival since you don't need high wilderness survival for effective poisoning. You can get a 6-28 +15% (while in an stance) axe from a collector in arid sea. |
